shamsynth1
A downloadable synth
A synthesiser plugin in development. It is currently a monosynth, with a sine wave oscillator, noise generator, two LFOs, and a bitcrusher. LFO 1 is routed to overall output volume, LFO 2 is routed to the wave oscillator frequency and noise volume. Future features include custom LFO routings, polyphony, and waveshaping.
See the README for an update to date list of features.
You can download AU and VST3 files for macOS here (currently v1.0.10+6), but for the most up-to-date version, or for use on Windows, you will need to compile it yourself from the master branch at GitHub. To do that, clone the repo at https://github.com/orlambda/shamsynth1, get JUCE at https://juce.com/get-juce/, open the .jucer file in the Projucer, save and open in your IDE, and build to AU or VST3. Here's a tutorial on getting started with JUCE if you get stuck: https://juce.com/tutorials/tutorial_new_projucer_project/.
Once you have downloaded or built the plugin, move it to the relevant folder. E.g. for AU plugins on macOS, the folder is /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
The folder location is different on Windows and for VST3 - check the location for your system.
You should now be able to open the plugin in a DAW or other host, such as Logic Pro or Reaper. You may need to scan for new plugins. JUCE also provide an audio plugin host for debugging if you don't want to install a full DAW - see https://juce.com/tutorials/tutorial_create_projucer_basic_plugin/ and scroll to 'Set up plug-in debugging (optional)' for instructions on how to install that. You don't need to set it as an executable in your IDE unless you are planning on debugging.
Videos and more instructions coming soon.
